Splashh - Vacation

It’s testament to Splashh’s highly infectious, garage-pop hooks that they’ve managed to stay relevant for quite so long.

Still riding on a mighty wave of much deserved hype, Aussie-come-Hackney four-piece Splashh seem to churn out quality new songs like there’s nothing to it. Much like their previous single - ‘Need It’ - the core of their infectious output is a fiery exuberance of youthful angst, albeit sublimely moulded to give them a somewhat playful edge. As frontman Sasha Carlson blurts out “I wanna go where nobody knows”, vocals distinctively gnarly and gritty, there is something there that overly resembles an Oasis track, circa 1995. Or so some might say, anyway.

In a world of fast paced music blogs and new buzz bands by the hour, it’s testament to Splashh’s highly infectious, garage-pop hooks that they’ve managed to stay relevant for quite so long. It would be a safe bet that they’ll be around for a while longer too. Because, quite simply, Splashh are a well-oiled breath of fresh air.
