In the magazine February 2016

Featuring Savages, Daughter, MØ, LCD Soundsystem & more.

DIY’s first issue of 2016 is fronted by Savages, a group making iconic moves that demand attention. New album ‘Adore Life’ is a hard-hitting, vital and - whisper it - fun record from an amazing band.

This month’s cover feature finds a misunderstood band shunning their ‘serious’ rep. They’re not scary, either. In fact, they love granola and they shudder at One Direction songs. ‘Adore Life’ sees them making a new case.

The February 2016 issue was going to print when news of David Bowie’s death broke. We’ve published a revised review of his final album ‘Blackstar’, alongside tributes from the greats who knew him best.

Elsewhere, the excitement levels are ramped up for LCD Soundsystem’s return, which is essentially going to be the best thing ever. We also check in with , the Danish pop star who went supermassive last year - she talks us through her upcoming second album.

DIIV attempt to clear out the cobwebs and explain the controversy around their new album, Daughter discuss the deep emotional responses to their amazing new album ‘Not to Disappear’, and one of the country’s best new bands, Milk Teeth, talk stage antics and bird poop.

Also inside, you’ll find interviews with alt-pop trio Wet, the bonkers GIRLI, a rejuvenated Mystery Jets and a concept-crazy Animal Collective.

DIY’s jam-packed February 2016 issue is out this Friday, 29th January. It’s free (!), available from record shops, venues and Dr. Martens stores stocking DIY. Check back here from 12PM GMT on Friday to read the issue in full and for free, online.
