Death From Above 1979 have unveiled the first official video to be taken from their first album in ten years, ‘The Physical World’.
Matching up with ‘Trainwreck 1979’, the new clip sees a skateboarding, city-wandering individual playing along to the opening track on the new record, all while experiencing other moments of growing up; skateboarding; going to gigs; getting picked up in town by parents. It’s a patchwork-type clip, but essentially the message is as follows: Kids are cool if they’re into DFA 1979.
Earlier today footage emerged of DFA 1979 performing ‘Trainwreck 1979’ on Letterman. Watch that here.

They’ve also announced a North American tour!
Nearing twenty years in the game, Death From Above 1979 are taking total control for the first time and pulling their genre-shredding approach forward with menace.
An album which sees the pair attempt to build upon the mythology of their past - and reclaim a little of it, too - it’s a move that largely pays off.
And they’re sharing new track ‘One + One’ to celebrate!
