CHVRCHES cover Justin Timberlake’s ‘Cry Me A River’
The Scottish electro trio featured on Radio 1’s Live Lounge.
Glasgow electronic outfit CHVRCHES performed their own take on Justin Timberlake’s 2002 hit ‘Cry Me A River’ on today’s (Thursday 19th February) Radio 1 Live Lounge.
The trio gave the song an electronic, synth-heavy revamp in their own signature style, with vocalist Lauren Mayberry staying true to Timberlake’s vocals. The session is part of Fearne Cotton’s special BRITs Week Live Lounge series. The band received their very first Brit Award nomination this year for British Breakthrough Act, alongside Royal Blood, Sam Smith, FKA Twigs and George Ezra.
The trio are currently in the studio working on the follow up to their 2013 debut record ‘The Bones Of What You Believe’. Martin Doherty confirmed to Fearne Cotton that the initial sessions had been “really positive”.
You can listen to their cover of ‘Cry Me A River Below’.
