Festivals: Liverpool Sound City hosts Peace, The Cribs and Gengahr on third and final day

DIY’s Baltic Stage is hosting Moon King, Clarence Clarity and more on day three.

It’s the third and final day of Liverpool’s Sound City festival. Over the past two days, Swans have rattled the senses, The Flaming Lips have taken things to another planet altogether, and fresh faces Yak and Tei Shi have stood out with statement-making sets.

Closing out the DIY Baltic Stage this weekend is Peace. No festival should go without a wild and unpredictable set from Harrison Koisser and co., and they’ll be finishing things off in the gigantic converted-warehouse space at the heart of Bramley-Moore Dock.

The Baltic Stage will also host performances from DIY favourites Gengahr, sun-kissed pop newcomers COMPNY, Canada’s Moon King, heart-stopping thrashers Single Mothers, Scottish gems Honeyblood and the fast-rising Palace.

All the action kicks off just after Midday. Across Sound City’s seven stages, other highlights come from Belle & Sebastian - the fest’s third and final headliners - Gaz Coombes, The Cribs, The Mispers, Lake Komo and Cymbals Eat Guitars.

Catch up with DIY’s reports and photos from day one and day two - highlights came from Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The Vaccines and Dutch Uncles.
