Listen: Elbow’s Guy Garvey confirms solo album, ‘Courting the Squall’
Frontman’s first work comes out this October.
Elbow’s Guy Garvey has confirmed plans to release his debut solo album, ‘Courting the Squall’.
Out 30th October, the album was recorded in Bath’s Real World Studios and Salford’s Blueprint Studios. It sees the frontman collaborating with Nathan Sudders (The Whip), Pete Jobson (I Am Kloot), Ben Christophers and Alex Reeves. The record’s said to contain songs that “don’t fit the elbow template”. Garvey describes the process as saying: “We moved fast, drank a lot and had what can only be described as a massive laugh along the way.”

The record will be backed by UK dates - tickets on sale 10am, Friday 18th September.
