Hookworms frontman MJ has shared another song under his solo moniker Family Scraps. It’s the third cut from an incoming debut album, following on from ‘It Follows’ and ‘Mistakes’. That debut’s coming “as soon as i can get studio time to finish it,” apparently.
Like the two previous Family Scraps tracks, ‘Ourselves’ takes a turn away from the pummeling wall of sound of Hookies, instead embracing a gentler strain of heady, glittery emo; think Ride, Galaxie 500, and Slowdive hanging out in a college room armed with a fuzzed up old guitar and a cassette player.
