In latest single ‘What If I Go?’ Brighton-via-Guernsey producer Mura Masa crafted his hardest cutting banger yet. Now, the Bonzai-featuring cut has a video to match.
Filmed on fancy, glitching square-format film, the video follows a gang of puffa-jacket loving couples around Hackney’s basement clubs, chicken shops and towering estates. Mura Masa (aka. Alex Crossan) makes a super-brief blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo, leaving most of the narrative to ‘What If I Go?’s loved-up subjects instead.
Alex Crossan’s also announced his new project AP Sound - a free mixtape of Mura Masa bootlegs, along with a bunch of demoes from musicians signed to his Anchor Point label. It’s up for free download as well, so that’s nice.
At the beginning of this year Mura Masa snapped up fifth place in the Beeb’s annual Sound Of poll, sharing his spot with WSTRN. After teaming up with DIY fave Shura on ‘Love For That’ and hotly tipped names like Nao and Jay Prince elsewhere, things are only set to get Mura Massive. He’s just wrapped up a short headline jaunt around the UK.
