Hinds share new video for ‘Warts’

The whole geisha-inspired video concept feels totally off.

Hinds have got a new video for ‘Warts’. Filmed in Barcelona’s tetris-puzzle Walden7 building, the band swan around keeping a close watch on their mate as she’s seduced by an unsuitable suitor.

That’s all well and good, but we’re not quite sure why they’ve decided to hawk traditional Japanese cultural symbols for the video. For whatever reason, the band have all decided to wear matching kimonos for ‘Warts’, with plenty of geisha poses thrown in at random intervals. It doesn’t add a whole lot to the video, and being completely blunt, it all feels totally off and appropriative.

‘Warts’ is taken from Hinds’ debut album ‘Leave Me Alone,’ which they released back in January. Speaking about the video concept in a statement, the band said: “have you ever seen a couple that shouldn’t be a couple? Have you ever seen your friend’s girlfriend’s warts before he does? In love like in war it ain’t no rules. And she knows. She knows it well… She is gonna beat him bad, but he only hears parabarabaraba”.

Hinds have also announced a load of live shows later this year, including a date at London’s Forum. Find the full tour below.
