Booking now: Brixton Academy are set to host a David Bowie memorial night

The event takes place on January 8th 2017, which would have been Bowie’s 70th birthday.
South London star David Bowie is set to be honoured with a memorial night at Brixton Academy.
The venue, which sits at the heart of the area Bowie made his name in, will host the Celebrating David Bowie evening on January 8th. The date would have marked Bowie’s 70th birthday. It’s set to feature performances and collaborations from close friend Gary Oldman and former band members Mike Garson, Earl Slick, Adrian Belew, Mark Plati, Gerry Leonard, Gail Ann Dorsey, Sterling Campbell, Zachary Alford, Holly Palmer and Catherine Russell.
Tickets are on sale from 9am on November 18th, with all proceeds going to the Children & The Arts charity. More events are set to be announced in cities which “have a strong connection with Bowie and his work”.
Earlier this year, Brixton played host to a street party celebration of David Bowie’s life, following that ‘Blackstar’ star’s death in January.
