Watch: Watch Sleater-Kinney and The National cover Creedence Clearwater Revival
Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth also helped out by providing backing vocals.
After the massive Women’s March in Washington, the Planned Parenthood organisation hosted an afterparty at the city’s 9:30 Club.
It was no ordinary afterparty though, and as well as sets from comedians Janeane Garofalo, Tig Notaro and Cameron Esposito, Sleater-Kinney and The National also performed. Matt Berninger joined Sleater-Kinney for a touching version of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Fortunate Son’, where backup vocals were provided by Dave Longstreth of Dirty Projectors and Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood. Talk about a supergroup!
Through ticket sales alone, more than $100,000 was raised for Planned Parenthood on the night.
Watch them perform ‘Fortunate Son’ below.
