Chart update: Stormzy is number one with ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’
He’s beaten Rag’n’Bone Man in one of the closest races in a long while.
Praise be! Stormzy’s got himself a number one with ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’. He’s beaten Ragin’ Binman to the top spot in one of the closest chart races in a long while, selling 69,000 copies (*stifled sniggering in the DIY office*).
The album gained the most first-week streams for a Number 1 album in chart history, and also beat Ed Sheeran’s ‘X’ album, which came in third (bloody hell, he hasn’t even released his new album yet and he’s already in the top five”.
Adele’s ‘25’ is also still clinging on in fifth place. Honestly, who on planet earth doesn’t have a copy of that record yet. Well done though, Adele. You’re continuing to smash it.
Stormzy’s set to head out on a pretty huge UK tour later this year, already selling out three nights at Brixton Academy. View those dates and check out the man himself with his very own number one trophy. Good on ya, Stormzy.
