Want to know what’s good? Fenne Lily’s new track.
After picking up some buzz with her singles ‘Top To Toe’ and ‘Bud’ last year, the Bristol folk singer-songwriter is back with her first track of 2017, and it’s naturally a doozy. Like before, ‘What’s Good’ has been produced by friend Dave Dixon and is delicately constructed around gentle guitar melodies. It reveals itself to be a sleeping giant though, becoming more confident and forthright with every passing moment.
The same can be said for the emotional power in Fenne Lily’s voice, which slowly but surely moves from being slightly quivering to fully assured across the course of the song. When she sings “I need this more than I knew, more than I’d like, more than you do,” she truly means every word.
