Joyce Manor unveiled a cover of The 6ths’ ‘Falling Out Of Love With You’ earlier in the year, but now we’ve been treated to a brand new, original cut from the band, ‘NBTSA.’
The single has been released on Polyvinyl Records’ long-running single series, in which they get a band to record two tracks on a 4-track cassette recorder and then pass it on to the next artist. Modern Baseball, Diet Cig, Mothers and more have all contributed to the series so far, but it the concept fits Joyce Manor’s scuzzy DIY pop-punk more than most. ‘NBTSA’ – which stands for “never be the same again” – is a typically energetic cut from the Cali lot. Frenetic guitar licks are crammed into the space of a breathless minute and a half, making it a short, sharp dose of brilliance.
Oh, and just in case you needed reminding, Joyce Manor are also headed out on a really rather exciting tour with Pity Me punks Martha in July too…
