Mac DeMarco fronts the DIY 2017 Festival Guide!

The ultimate accessory for the summer’s events is out this Friday (28th April).

Every month, dear readers, we bring you a new magazine. Well, not this month. This month, you’re getting two - both our usual May issue, and an extra, completely different festival guide. Both will be available free in record shops, venues, bars and everywhere else you’d usually find us.

The 2017 Festival Guide in association with TicketWeb is fronted by Mac DeMarco, who’s set to take his revelationary new album ‘This Old Dog’ out to a host of muddy weekenders this summer with a new, (whisper it) more mature outlook.

“I hope not!” he balks, at the mention of the ‘M’ word, but then concedes that “the allure of some things [we did] when we started has gone.” “I love touring and I love playing shows, but I don’t wanna sit and drink 40 beers every night and fall asleep face down on the floor anymore,” he shrugs. “For some reason, that lost its fun.” Read the full cover feature with DeMarco online here.

Elsewhere in the jam-packed issue, Kasabian’s Serge Pizzorno looks forward to what he thinks will, naturally, be a “fucking massive” summer. Mumford & Sons talk us through their mighty plans for their Latitude takeover, while Black Honey’s Izzy Phillips readies her bandmates for festival season by taking them vintage clothes shopping to get them looking tip top in the fields.

With a festival flow chart to boot - letting you know if you’re more Field Day or Green Man - and even a bloody wordsearch to make your way through while cracking open the first tin of the festival on the Thursday night, it’s absolutely packed with everything you could need for the summer. And no mud!

Stay tuned for more details of our May magazine later this week. Both the Festival Guide 2017 and May issue will be out on Friday (28th April), available free at all the great places listed at diymag.com/stockists, or online below.
