On the telly: Watch Phoenix perform ‘J-Boy’ on Fallon
The French popsters brought the lead single from ‘Ti Amo’ and some underfloor disco lights to the show.
A little over a week after announcing that their sixth album ‘Ti Amo’ would be out in June and sharing its opening single ‘J-Boy,’ French pop-heads Phoenix have been on ‘The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon’ to perform the track.
The band powered through the shimmering, soaring synth-heavy, Michaelangelo-referencing track with few adornments… Well, other than a blast of cosmic underfloor lighting towards the end (the album’s been inspired by Italo-disco, just in case you forgot). Frontman Thomas Mars poses and flexes his muscles at the end, probably knowing that it was a bloody strong rendition of the new single.
