‘Excellent Musician’ Wesley Gonzalez is back with another cut from his new album, out on 30th June!
Following on from ‘I Am A Telescope’ and lead single ‘Exhibition Song’, ‘Piece of Mind’ is another brilliant yet very slightly bizarre cut. Punctuated by slightly wonky horns, it’s a stomper that sees Wesley on very fine form indeed, filled with his usual sparkling wordplay.
Speaking of the track in a statement, Wesley said: “I guess this song is about trying to not be bitter about stuff, especially music. It’s very easy to become embittered making music and hanging out with a lot of other musicians, thinking that you produce better work than someone you may know, who is perhaps doing better than yourself. It’s positive in the fact that I guess it’s me turning a corner in my thinking on music. It’s not fully enlightened as I still can get jealous, so I tried to be honest in the lyrics and not be fully positive - as that would be untrue!”
Wesley is also set to play The Finsbury in London on 30th May and is promising more tour dates in the near future. Keep your eyes peeled for those, then!
