After sharing ‘Finders Keepers’ (and recently taking it to Jools Holland, natch), Mabel is back with a video for the title track of her new EP.
‘Bedroom’ is another warm R&B synth banger from the Londoner, but on it Mabel is actually a bit less chill than normal. She sings on the topic of a pretty toxic relationship (where she “don’t believe a word that you been saying”), and quite literally starts tearing it down. There’s no destructive tendencies in the video though, where she leaves the men behind and instead hangs out in a blue room with her all-woman crew.
Speaking to The FADER, Mabel said of the video: “The ‘Bedroom’ video was so much fun to make […] I didn’t want there to be a male love interest as that would be too obvious, and the song is so literal. It has a lot of dark undertones which I thought was an interesting contrast. It felt empowering to have an all-female cast!”

Her new album, ‘About Last Night…’, is out next month.
Based around the highs and lows of one big party, Mabel’s forthcoming second LP ‘About Last Night…’ started as fantastical escapism but wound up connecting the singer to her past.
Her second album lands this July!
Her latest is all about “how quickly things can turn from thrilling to toxic”.
