Premiere: Bellevue Days take the spotlight in the video for ‘Faith’

We’ve got the first look at the Croydon bunch’s raw, upfront new clip.

Croydon sludge-rockers Bellevue Days recently revealed that they’d be releasing their brand new EP ‘Rosehill’ on 4th July, unveiling its first single ‘Secret Love’ in the process.

Now they’re back with another taste of what to expect from the new five-track collection, which has been mixed and mastered by Jason Wilson (who’s also worked with You Me At Six and Don Broco). ‘Faith’ is another rock juggernaut from the band, with skittering, tricky drums licks punctuating the verses before exploding into a cacophony of riffs in the chorus. It also marks the first time that Dan Lukes has taken the reins on lead vocals, and a very fine job he does too.

The band went in-depth about that aspect of the new single and the concept behind it: “Dan originally wrote ‘Faith’ over a year ago. It was only when we started writing our third EP we thought about giving it a go in the band. We pretty much pulled it apart from its original acoustic form and had a play around. Dan wrote the song about his friend who was having a hard time and whose religion wasn’t helping the matter at all, and it’s about getting through and overcoming all those obstacles in life on your own”.

Long-time collaborator and photographer Christian Fenton worked with the group for the single’s new video. Together, they’ve crafted a simple but very effective clip of the band performing the track in a slightly darkened room, bringing all of their pure force and emotion to the fore. Speaking of the video, the band commented: “We wanted something pretty raw and dark. It’s a bit of a polar opposite from our last single and we think that’s pretty cool”.
