Dream team: Sharon Van Etten and Hercules & Love Affair team up on ‘Omnion’

Sharon Van Etten and Hercules & Love Affair team up on ‘Omnion’

It’s the title track from the alt-disco collective’s upcoming album.

Sharon Van Etten. Hercules & Love Affair. Think that might be a little bit of an odd couple? Think again.

Back in February, the alt-disco collective teamed up with Faris Badwan for ‘Controller’, a semi-industrial floor-filler that showed off a completely different side to The Horrors’ frontman. Now they’ve teamed up with Sharon Van Etten for the latest, title track from their upcoming new album.

‘Omnion’ is a highly rhythmic number that features some grinding, warped synths and pretty, floating textures. It’s not quite as full-on disco as ‘Controller’, but it plays to Sharon’s strengths. Her vocals glide over the top of the track gracefully, grounding the track and keeping its drifting melodies from floating off into the ether.
