Listen: Tigercub have shared new track ‘It’s Only Love’
The trio have also announced a date at London’s Scala for January!
Brighton trio Tigercub are busy gearing up to the release of their new EP ‘Evolve or Die’, due on 29th September via Alcopop, and have already shared ‘The Divided States of Us’ from it.
Now they’re ramping up the anticipation just that little bit
more by unveiling a brand new track, ‘It’s Only Love’. Speaking of the track,
frontman Jamie Hall said: “’It’s Only Love’ is a song about being numb, looking
inside yourself and examining your emotions with a machine-like pragmatism,
utilitarian love”.
He continued: “We wanted to layer big chords played on Mellotrons and pad
synths to give the song this huge expansive vibe. We’d dipped our toes into
synth territory on [debut album] Abstract Figures In The Dark which was always
very low-key, but it felt right to use those instruments unabashedly to create
the atmosphere and dynamic the song needed. More often we’ll find ourselves
reaching further for new textures to serve songs as we develop”.
Recently, the band revealed details of a new UK tour taking place in October, where they’ll be heading to Southampton, Exeter, Oxford, Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Huddersfield, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Manchester and Norwich. Now, they’ve also just announced a date at London’s Scala, which will take place in January next year! Tickets are on sale now.
