8th September, the date when Norwegian/Kiwi electro-pop duo Anna of the North release their debut LP ‘Lovers’, is fast approaching!
Recently, the pair have been giving a glimpse into the album with the likes of ‘Money’ and ‘Someone’, they’re on something of a hot streak. So it’s pretty apt that their new single is called ‘Fire’ then! While it’s punctuated by the glacial synths the pair have become known for, the rolling, sing-along chorus and glassy beats roll provide one of their most immediate moments to date.
Speaking of the track, the band say: “It was the last track written for the record and we really wanted it to be something special. Listening back, I think you can sense that every bit of feeling we had left in us was poured into this one. We were completely spent at the end of the long journey of making the record, but that heightens the emotion of the performance; deepening the desperation of the story. ‘Fire’ is about the destructive things we always do to each other at the end of relationships”.
After hitting Bestival, Anna of the North will also be heading out on a tour of Europe from September. They’ll head to London at the end of September before travelling across the continent in October and November. Tickets for their show at London’s Omeara are on sale now.
