Queens of the Stone Age hit #1 with ‘Villains’

It’s the rock giants’ first UK top spot.

Queens of the Stone Age have hit the Number One spot in the UK album charts with new album, ‘Villains’.

The record - produced by Mark Ronson and given the full five-star rating by yours truly - is the band’s first UK Number One, with previous full-length, ‘…Like Clockwork’ having reached Number Two on release back in 2013.

It follows last week’s surprise appearance at Reading & Leeds festival, in which the band played Bramham Park in early afternoon, and in the evening at the Richfield Avenue site.

You can watch some of it over at the good ol’ BBC here.

The War on Drugs are at #3 with ‘A Deeper Understanding’, PVRIS enter at #4 with ‘All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell’ and thanks to its vinyl release, Paramore’s ‘After Laughter’ re-enters the Top 100 at #49.

Queens of the Stone Age tour the UK and Ireland in November.
