Watch Watch the first trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is released in UK cinemas in June 2018.

Universal Pictures have unleashed the first action packed trailer for the highly anticipated Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and let’s just say that the title of the film now makes perfect sense as we see our heroes from 2015’s Jurassic World heading back to a now abandoned Isla Nublar in an attempt to rescue the dinosaurs from a volcanic eruption.

The trailer opens with Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) chatting in a bar sometime after the events of Jurassic World. It’s clear from their conversation that their fledgling relationship is over but Claire is out to convince Owen to return to Isla Nublar with her on a rescue mission to save the dinosaurs that still inhabit the island telling him that the velociraptor he raised and trained, Blue, is still alive.

Clearly Owen isn’t the only person who needs convincing that it’s a good idea to return and rescue a number of rampaging dinosaurs as we see Dr. Ian Malcolm (a returning Jeff Goldblum from the first two Jurassic Park films) gravely stating the case for leaving them alone: “These creatures were here before us. If we’re not careful they’re gonna be here after.” He goes on to paraphrase his most famous line from Jurassic Park: “Life cannot be contained. Life breaks free. Life finds a way.”

The action then moves to the island where Howard and Pratt are joined by the breakout star of The Get Down, Justice Smith and the trio fight for their lives as they try to evade both dino’s and an erupting volcano. The best moment is reserved for Owen’s reunion with his beloved ‘raptor Blue, but will she remember him?

Directed by J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom also stars B.D. Wong, James Cromwell, Toby Jones, Ted Levine, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda and Rafe Spall.
