Last year Beck released his buoyant latest album ‘Colors’ and has been popping up on telly and touring the record pretty much ever since.
He took a bit of time though to Spotify studios though, and he’s now shared his contribution to their series ‘Music Happens Here’. It’s a cover of The Velvet Underground’s classic ‘I’m Waiting For The Man’ and it’s a version that stays relatively faithful to the original, with his own laid-back vocals taking centre-stage. It’s filled with driving, twanging guitars and percussion, a few harmonies and a couple of slightly off-kilter moments that give it a bit of a twist.
Beck recently partied with pups in his dog-laden video for ‘Fix Me’. He’s also set to head to We Love Green and All Points East this year, as well as playing a massive Dublin show with Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Listen to Beck take on ‘I’m Waiting For The Man’ below.
