News Primal Scream have released ‘Velocity Girl’ on 7” vinyl

The classic track is reissued for the first time since its release in 1986!
33 years after its first release, indie classic ‘Velocity Girl’ is being reissued for the first time! Despite it being a firm Primal Scream fan fave, it’s never been included on any retrospective albums or reissued until now. Thank you, Bobby.
Available now on 7” vinyl with brand new track ‘Broken’, the band have shared its first official video, which sees Bobby performing the song alongside footage of the iconic actress and model Edie Sedgwick.
“I had an Edie Sedgwick type character in mind when I wrote ‘Velocity Girl’,” says Bobby. “I read Jean Stein’s biography about her and I wanted to meet a girl like that. Hanging out with Warhol, The Velvet Underground , Bob Dylan and shooting speed whilst looking absolutely fabulous. Super hip and beautiful. She was the muse. I love her.”
The track is on the huge collection ‘Maximum Rock ’n’ Roll: The Singles’ which is out now. Full of bangers, it’s a celebration of the band and an exciting look at their evolution over the years. Make sure to catch it IRL on their huge UK and Ireland tour later this year.
