The Maccabees’ Felix White steps in for injured Yannis for Foals’ Mercury Prize performance

Yannis recently sliced his hand open, forcing Foals to cancel a gig.

Earlier this week, Yannis Philippakis of Foals ruined his hand in gnarly fashion thanks to a “run in with a knife” while in Greece, forcing them to pull out of a planned Reeperbahn performance.

With the Mercury Prize ceremony tonight (19th September), and Foals’ ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Pt.1’ up for the prize, it has now been announced that The Maccabees’ Felix White will be taking over Yannis’ guitar work.

Drummer Jack Bevan revealed the news on his Instagram Stories.

Tonight’s Mercury Prize also sees nominations for the likes of Slowthai, Anna Calvi and Black Midi.
