Joe & The Shitboys take us through 'The Reson For Hardcore Vibes (Again)'

The Faroese punks give us a fantastically sweary track by track run-through of their new album.

Following last year’s debut album ‘The Reson For Hardcore Vibes’, Faroese punks Joe & The Shitboys are sharing their new record ‘The Reson For Hardcore Vibes (Again)’ today!

Full of undeniably thrilling snappy bangers, we got Joe to give us a track by track run-through of all the juicy goss behind the album.

Check it out now below.

Personal Space Invader

'Personal Space Invader' is about people who invade your personal space and get all pissy when you tell them to fuck off and take it all personal when you tell them you don’t like their fucking face.

The Good Ol’ Days

I wrote 'The Good Ol Days' because working at a retirement home, I was so sick and tired of hearing, not the old people, but my coworkers wishing everything went back to how it used to be, completely glossing over how far we’ve come in regards to racism, sexism, homophobia, workers’ rights etc. Instead of confronting them, I got all passive aggressive and wrote a song about it.

Closeted HomoFObe

'Closeted HomoFObe' is about people who think they’re allies, but still don’t wanna look at two boys kissing. People who take it upon themselves to protect others from being exposed to the LGBTQ+ community, because they want the public space to remain “neutral”. So it’s not about the Westboro Baptist Church, it’s about your fake woke uncle.

A 'Manspredator' is a manspreading fuckhead who can’t grasp the fact that others also need space, but not only that, he’s also convinced that the looks people give him when he’s taking up way too much space, is because they’re in awe of the fact that his testicles must be huge if he needs that much space.

Save the Planet You Dumb Shit

'Save the Planet You Dumb Shit' is about all the small things you can do to clean up our world so our grandchildren can live without worrying about the ozone layer. Like reusing a plastic bag at the grocery store, before you stop at McDonalds on your way home in your Jeep.

Kill Your Darlings

'Kill Your Darlings' is 30 seconds of fuck you to the shit pro-lifers say.

Rock and Roll (We Stole that Shit)

'Rock and Roll (We Stole that Shit)' is about us recognizing the history of what we’re doing and the absurdity of trying to stay woke, while supposedly contributing to the problem, and the futility of it all. We know this shit is weird. We’re just gonna roll with it.

The Reson for Hardcore Vibes Again

The first one was a banger, so let’s just do 'The Reson for Hardcore Vibes Again'. It’s still about being pissed off at the monotony of the smelly fish factory and being dissatisfied with your livelihood in general.

An Ode to Shitheads

Mariah Carey has Lambs, The Grateful Dead have Deadheads, Joe & The Shitboys have Shitheads. 'An Ode to Shitheads' is for the fans who acknowledge their proper shitheads. This song was written, both lyrically and musically, around having the slogan “don’t tell us what to do, fuck you!” as the chorus, because it was the edgiest thing we’d ever done.
