After a year away for ~obvious reasons~, SXSW is returning next March, and British Music Embassy is officially back as well, with a “bigger than ever” presence at the festival.
Moving from its previous intimate 250-person showcase, BME will now be bringing the party with a capacity of 700 at Cedar Street Courtyard, “an open-air SXSW hotspot that will host the best of British music”.
It’ll be the first in-person BME following last year’s online festival, which saw performances from Baby Queen, Do Nothing, Squid, Yard Act and loads more! You can read more about what we thought of the BME virtual showcase last year here.
“The British Music Embassy showcase has been a highlight of the SXSW Music Festival for more than 15 years,” James Minor, Head of Music Festival at SXSW, says. “As the world reconvenes in Austin in March 2022 to see where our global industry is headed, we especially look forward to discovering what’s next in British Music at the British Music Embassy.”
