News Stella Donnelly announces new album ‘Flood’

Check out lead single ‘Lungs’ now.

Three years on since the release of ‘Beware Of The Dogs’, Australia’s Stella Donnelly has announced that her new album ‘Flood’ will be out on 26th August via Secretly Canadian.

A record of “rediscovery”, the track came to being through Stella’s reconnection with herself and travelling through the country. “I often had no choice about where I was,” she notes. “There’s no denying that not being able to access your family with border closures, it zooms in on those parts of your life you care about.”

Sharing lead single ‘Lungs’ alongside the news, it comes alongside a video co-directed by Stella and Duncan Wright, featuring choreography from her childhood friends. “Very loosely based on the Banded Stilts of my album cover, the character I play in red is a wobbly adult, doing their best with their new set of legs and responsibilities, trying to make it look easy but very much on unsteady ground,” she explains. “I wanted this video to celebrate the child, firm in their footholds, intimidatingly honest, not to be messed with, they are the strength and power of this video no matter how much I try to assert myself as the boss.”
