The band are set to step in after Rage Against The Machine cancelled their set last minute.

The 1975 have been confirmed as headliners for this year’s Reading and Leeds festivals, following Rage Against The Machine’s last minute cancellation yesterday.

The band - who are due to release their new album ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’ on Friday 14th October - will step in and co-headline alongside Halsey, on Friday 26th August at Leeds, and Sunday 28th August at Reading.

This latest announcement follows the news that Rage Against The Machine singer Zack de la Rocha was given medical advice against embarking upon the UK and European leg of their current tour.

Eurovision winners Måneskin also recently announced they would no longer be performing at the festival. citing “scheduling conflicts”.
