Band Of Horses are already underway on the follow up to their last album ‘Infinite Arms’.

Speaking to 6 Music, frontman Ben Birdwell claims the record is turning out darker than it’s predecessor.

‘We took so much time on this record, it’d be nice to do another quick one,’ Birdwell said. ‘I miss the idea of doing it on the fly.’

‘We’ve been touring so hard lately a lot of it has been writing songs in hotel rooms,’ he added. ‘It’s terribly dark, which sucks. Songs about being squished to death, cannibalism…’

Cheery! The band expect to enter the studio next year. Before that they have a UK tour. Those dates are:

JANUARY
26 O2 Academy Newcastle
28 O2 Academy Birmingham
30 O2 Academy Bristol
31 O2 Academy Leeds

FEBRUARY
1 Academy Manchester
3 O2 Academy Brixton
