News Doves To Headline Ben & Jerry’s Festival

The ice cream guys are also looking for two unsigned bands to play.

We don't usually like just copying and pasting press releases, but who can resist when the mailout in question is from Ben & Jerry's and includes all manner of cow puns?

The general gist, in case you can't stomach the PR in all its glory, is that Doves will headline the event on Sunday 25th July, and they're also running some sort of unsigned competition looking for acts to play Nuts About Fairtrade Sundae on The Common.

Here we go then:

'Legendairy ice cream makers Ben & Jerry’s are udderly extatic to announce that Doves will headline their Sundae Festival on Sunday 25th July.

Clapham Common will once again play host to Ben & Jerry’s ‘Nuts about Fairtrade’ Sundae on the Common on the 24th and 25th July featuring great moosic from Doves, dollops of free Ben & Jerry’s 19 flavours, social activism, including fab Fairtrade activities, fun-fairground style attractions and even fresians! Additionally, as usual, the festival will be Climate Neutral, with a ticket donation given to charity.

Other great moosical talents performing on Sunday 25th July include Billy Bragg, Frightened Rabbit, Cherry Ghost, Exit Calm and Goldheart Assembly.

What’s more, if you and your band fancy performing a set at this summer’s most lovely festival, listen up! Two lucky acts will win their chance to perform live at this year’s Nuts About Fairtrade Sundae on The Common to an intimate audience… of roughly 13,000.
