News Exclusive: Listen: Mazes Stream New ‘Better Ghosts’ Release In Full
Listen to Jack Cooper and co.’s new mini-album in full a week ahead of its FatCat release.
Conversations about Ghostbusters and a desire to double-up releases in 2013 led to Mazes' new mini-album, 'Better Ghosts', which quickly follows on from 'Ores & Minerals'.
As far as Mazes' tightly-wound guitar-led approach goes, this end of year release might be their sharpest to date, refined to the point where any additional element in any given song might topple the whole thing.
DIY's delighted to be premiering the full stream of 'Better Ghosts'. Including the jagged opener 'Hayfever Writstband', the record runs through fuzzy triumphs devoted to scientific discoveries ('Higgs Boson') and sprawled-out juggernauts ('Sand Grown', 'Organ Harvest'). Throughout, the sound belongs exclusively to Mazes - few other bands could take a sparse set-up like this and emerge with such forceful results.
Listen to the album in full below. Mazes are on tour this month - see dates below the player. 'Better Ghosts' is released on 11th November via FatCat.
This is no longer available for streaming but can be purchased over on iTunes.
