Jack White’s Third Man Records Invent New Vinyl Format

Jack White - the Willy Wonka of wax.

Jack White - the Willy Wonka of wax. He can have that title for free after ‘inventing’ a new type of vinyl.

His band (no, not that one, or that one - the other one) The Dead Weather are set to release their track ‘Blue Blood Blues’ as a single. So much, so not that interesting. It’s being released on three different formats; 7’ (backed with ‘Jawbreaker (live)’), 12’ (with added ‘No Hassle Night’ / ‘I Just Want To Make Love To You (live)’, and Triple Decker Record.

What’s that, you ask? Imagine a 12’, with a 7’ inside. It’s basically the afore mentioned 12’ single, with the middle knocked out and a 7’ of an unreleased song stuck inside. Literally inside, mind - you have to break into the 12’ to get it. Only 300 have been made, and if the idea STILL makes your brain hurt, Mr White explains below.
