The Fall, RM Hubbert, Nine Black Alps To Play Long Division

Mark E. Smith and co. to play third edition of Wakefield’s city festival as first wave of bands are announced.

Wakefield’s city festival, Long Division, has released the first batch of bands set to play its third edition with the main draws announced so far being The Fall, RM Hubbert, Ghostpoet, Nine Black Alps and Howard Marks (yes, he of drug smuggling fame).

The news relates to the all-day element of proceedings on 8th June, with local heroes such as Post War Glamour Girls and The Spills also set to play a part.

Further announcements are expected over the next couple of months regarding the Friday launch party on 7th June and additional Sunday events on 9th June, as well as additional Saturday draws. Around 50 further bands are still to be revealed, including headliners.

Organised by indie fanzine Rhubarb Bomb, the festival aims to build on the positive reaction to last year’s edition, which featured the likes of Art Brut and Aidan Moffat, and hopes to ‘to show off what a great place Wakefield is to visit, and what an amazing, DIY minded art and music community exists here.’

Tickets will be on sale through national ticket providers and in-store in Leeds’ Crash and Jumbo record shops.
