News Watch: H. Hawkline Unveils ‘Ghouls’ Video

Song is the title track from the Welsh artist’s latest EP on Turnstile.

What do you get if you mix a class of Welsh school kids, a video director, and music from Cardiff-based H. Hawkline? An excellent music video with delightful audio accompaniment, apparently.

Yes indeed. H. Hawkline, the project of Welsh artist Huw Evans, has unveiled the video for the title track of his recently-released 'Ghouls' EP - and it's a good'un.

Put together by Ben Reed and Class 3C of Ysgol Dyffryn Nunlle (who are, we think around 7-8 years old), the video features household goods being turned into spooky ghosts with the use of some quirky colourful animation.

As explained by Ben, 'My friend Huw asked me to make a video for his new song 'Ghouls'. I was teaching primary schools film workshops at the time and asked the class to create their own individual representations of ghouls.

'Unfortunately the video tape was exposed to a magnet and 2/3rd's of the clips destroyed. This is what we made with the remnants...'

The track is taken from H. Hawkline's 'Ghouls' EP, which was released on Monday (17th June) through Turnstile, and is available for order now.

'Ghouls' is a psychedelic summer pop jam, slacker guitar and Huw's laid back vocals coming together very pleasantly indeed - with soft backing 'oohs' and quirky piano keys adding to its charm.
