Japan-based label Flau could supply one music listener’s fix of beautiful escapist dream-pop for years on end; they needn’t listen to anything else, the world would just pass by in one constant resplendent motion. Their releases range from the Bjork-like flutterings of Coklyu, to the organic, acoustic hushed musings of MayMay. It’s no exaggeration in saying that amongst their 20+ catalogue of EPs and singles and albums, I’ve yet to find a single dud amongst the label’s fledging discography.

And so it’s with little surprise that Cuushe emerges from the culture shock of big, breathtaking Tokyo with a sound far more rooted in the distant countryside or the tropical islands of the Pacific, with a release on Flau. She sings with alien disguise; a Jonsi-like call to arms that speaks volumes and hones in at an inner peace. There’s a Grouper-like sparseness to a song like ‘Do You Know The Way To Sleep’, the kind you can get lost in for days.

DIY has the premiere of a Slow Magic remix of the song, which gives it an altogether refreshing sheen of multi-textured, giddy brilliance. Stream below:

‘Girl you know that I am here but the dream’ is out now on Flau.
