Seye is a musician with plenty of connections, though you assume he’s managed to become an emerging artist on his own merit. Debut single ‘White Noise’ is a crystal-clear, glistening piece of dance, garage and afrobeat-infused pop that’d send any A&R into a frenzy on first listen.

It probably doesn’t hurt the guy to be the brother of Metronomy bassist Olugbenga Adelekan; that, and having been the guitarist for Paloma Faith and The Noissettes. Guitars aren’t the focal point of his debut release; they provide a rhythm-filled base for all the multi-faceted chaos that ensues in surrounding. It also happens to be the first release for some time on Stranger Records - not since a certain Lana Del Rey have they brought anything out.

First On likes to see Seye’s career as a series of pieces on a chessboard - he need only make the sensible moves from now on and he’ll be on his way to checkmate. Everything’s for the taking.
