LA has long been a musical melting pot, producing bands as diverse as recent Colombia signees Haim and up and comers Blacks&, and it seems as though this psych-pop outfit are just about to graduate from the scene. And after a few listens to the band’s new single ‘Honey & Queen’, it becomes clear as to how the unique sounding, multi-compartmental trio comprised of Marc Gilfry, Billy Scher and Mat Ungson are beginning to make a promising name for themselves.

Taken from their forthcoming ‘Prismatic’ EP, ‘Honey & Queen’ is the first glimpse we’ve been given, comprising of three and a half minutes of electronically-tampered vocal work - not in a reality TV show sense, but in a robotic, Daft Punk style - accompanied by organic percussion patterns that uphold hefty doses of electronica and hip-hop, building the track into a tame, yet euphoric, swoon.

American Royalty are the type of band possessing a sound that you’ll either adore or find a little too busy: but either way, after listening to their music you’re sure to feel thoroughly replenished.
