Of all the bands playing DIY/Neu’s residency at London’s Old Blue Last next month, the band most likely to tear the venue walls down and make a new home are Blackeye.
Amongst the scuzzy noise of 90’s revival bands you often have to search through the layers of noise to find the hooks, but Blackeye deliver an instant fix of bubblegum punk. ‘Spin’ is the first sweet taste of their noise pop, a unique style of dramatic anthemia with irresistibly catchy chorus’ and a bombardment of massive riffs. The opening of these riffs is so crowd friendly we wouldn’t be surprised to hear a giant festival audience drowning out the band by singing the guitar part in a few month’s time.
Blackeye play a DIY & Neu Presents night at the Old Blue Last, London on 8th January alongside Wolf Alice, Men’s Adventures and Must.
Featuring SOFT PLAY, Corinne Bailey Rae, 86TVs, English Teacher and more!
