It’s a long way from the bedroom to the big stage if you’re a budding producer, but Brolin may just be about to make that leap. His debut track ‘NYC’ has been steadily gaining attention over the past nine months and has attracted the kind of interest most could only dream about in their bedrooms, with early mentions of a BBC Sound Of 2013 nomination.

As to who exactly is behind the Brolin moniker, we are unable to confirm. Not one interview or promotional appearance has taken place to date and it seems that for now at least, this is the way Brolin likes it. This has led to comparisons with Burial’s emergence although there are some distinct differences between them. Not only do the two share a desire for anonymity, but also a passion for a stripped back yet soulful sound - although Brolin shies away from shrouding his melodies in an underground fog, he prefers to make them poignant centerpiece’s of his tracks.

Will all the interest that’s been generated thus far, Brolin will have a job on his hands to keep his anonymity, what will all the furore that’s sure to amount. Until then, he will remain an intriguing mystery.
