Who is he?
Damage

, AKA Spencer Michael, is a frankly insultingly young 19 year old, who suddenly discovered an innate super power for creating awesome electro dance last year and gets to live in south-east Australia. Jealous much?

What does he sound like?
Take your pick from whichever Franco-Australian act is currently making the staggering of repetitive little blocks of notes on their computer seem like the most exciting thing in the world. The majority of Damage’s output so far has been a laudable array of remixes, twisting a track like The Presets‘My People’ into a brutally hedonistic cut of chainsaw synths and sledgehammer beats, then radiating Muscles‘Lauren From Glebe’ with glorious, hypnotic melodies.

Why is he so great?
Because, blessed with the ability to find the crunchiest, yummiest electronic noises you never dared dream existed, Damage is also crafting some brilliant original tracks too. Most notably ‘Tailor Of The Times’, a kind of psychedelic party anthem for robots, that will probably be the first thing released ‘officially’ (i.e. you give them money, remember that?), provided A&R isn’t replaced with a bunch of Guy Hands’ investment bankers.

What should I be checking out?
Aside from a seriously excellent, hipster-defying Frankmusik remix, and free downloads (including the Presets and Muscles edits) on Damage’s MySpace, there’s always the extremely promising (only one, albeit great track so far) side-project of woozy 80s influenced material under the name Stravardo (myspace.com/stravardo). Oh and a soon to be completed remix of the legendary ‘So Electric’ by Lifelike, which should be all kinds of euphoric aceness.
