Brian Dansx, an electronic artist, hails from the unlikely location of Los Angeles. You’re often led to believe that L.A. either plays host to the scuzzy punk artists touring the world after playing shows at The Smell, or to lavished celebrities who go there to completely and utterly lose their sanity (we’re looking at you, Robbie Williams). But Dansx, whose soundcloud moniker is C-P-P, sounds like he takes residence in another place entirely. The synth-led rhythms that splutter out of his songs feel like sea particles lying on the edge of the shore, or bright city lights shining from the top of a skyscraper.

‘I’m Seeing Gold’, which by all accounts is the standout track from those on offer, could be located on a Bollywood film set or the furthest corner of the solar system. Its otherworldly sonics remind you of Gold Panda, an artist who buys interesting looking Indian records and manipulates them to a very inch of their former selves. Derwin Panda makes samples out of the most unlikely of sources and Dansx is in a very similar camp.

‘So yes?’ takes an identical route, focusing around a looped sitar player, with short, stabbing bass rhythms and light, fluffy drums sitting directly below. ‘The Three Truths’ shows an altogether different side, exhaling glitter from its lungs, taking the listener to an altogether alien surrounding. You trawl through his SoundCloud and you notice a considerably quick progression, one which, to date, culminates in the absolute peak, ‘I’m Seeing Gold’. If progression persists, it’s difficult to comprehend what Dansx might be capable of.
