News Drenge
Drenge have influences from every corner of rock, but their music is vital to the genre’s progression.

The only available info regarding Drenge is pretty scarce, but what we do know already is that the band is formed of brothers Eoin and Rory Loveless, hailing from Sheffield – the home of household name acts such as The Arctic Monkeys and Britpop icons Pulp. And another thing that we do know about Drenge is that they produce a raucous brand of traditional-rock-come-modern-day-punk, teamed with vital elements of classic hardcore.
Brought up on a diet of Jazz and The White Stripes, their Soundcloud page demonstrates three complete tracks, each of which sport aggressive guitar riffs that compete with relentless, thrashing percussion. ‘People In Love Make Me Feel Yuck’ purveys a distinct driving rock guitar riff that flows throughout, as does ‘I Wanna Break You In Half’ – sounding like the sick and twisted bastard child of The Misfits’ Jerry Only and Jack White, while ‘Dogmeat’ steers towards an enticing blend between ballsy garage rock with undertones of the Hardcore that circulated the height of Minor Threat and Black Flag. And from what we’ve already heard from the band, we reckon that they’ll be sticking around for a while, what with the sudden cry for guitar music. They probably won’t make the charts, but they’ll definitely tear up a string of venues in a determined attempt to take over the world.
