Happy Attack

Neu Happy Attack

Happy Attack have a brass section, dedicate songs about Richard Whiteley to Gary Glitter days after his (quite rightful) imprisonment, and have matching t-shirts.

While some bands are plugged and plugged to us - usually so much we’re already tired of them by the time they first venture within the confines of the M25, Essex’s ‘finest funk-rap collective’ Happy Attack were thrust upon us like only a funk-rap collective from Essex could be. How? Why, they played our very own Sunday Sunday club night, and when you’re just about to shut the window because we’re being too self-absorbed, they’re really genuinely good. Better than that - they’ll make you laugh more than The Mighty Boosh and Totally Scott-Lee combined. Seriously.

First thing’s first, they’ll be compared to Goldie Lookin’ Chain. There are lots of them, and they rap about popular culture. Yet where GLC mock rap culture, smoke too much weed, use slang never before heard outside South Wales and wear enough man made fibres to break several EU regulations, Happy Attack have a brass section, dedicate songs about Richard Whiteley to Gary Glitter days after his (quite rightful) imprisonment, and have matching t-shirts. ‘What more could there possibly be?’ we assume you ask. Well, how about monkey paedos, Compo from Last of the Summer Wine, and lyrics that would make Kelly Osbourne blush?

Quite simply, Happy Attack are the most fun you’ll have this year so far. And there’s no unintelligible Welsh accents to boot. Ace!

If you’re still not convinced, here are a couple of mp3s to download:
