Idiot Wind, or Amanda Bergman as she’s really called, has been working under several different names in Sweden, calling herself Hajen (The Shark in Swedish) and Jaw Lesson before settling on the Bob Dylan-inspired Idiot Wind in 2010. After releasing the odd track under her previous aliases she unveiled a self-titled debut EP in late 2010 on her own label Häst, and since then she’s been touring as the opening act for both The Tallest Man On Earth and First Aid Kit.

A couple of weeks back a brand new 7” single titled ‘Find The Rhythm In The Noise’ appeared out of nowhere, with her debut LP still forthcoming and possibly due for 2013. On the new single Bergman unveils an expanded sound with the help of members of fellow Dalarna act Francis as she’s moving away from the stripped-down piano-and-vocals-only sound of the debut EP. And guess what? It works wonderfully, although Bergman’s gorgeous vocals are still the obvious highlight. Now all we need is the full-length debut, but until then we’ll just have to make due with the little we have.
