I guess the reason that led to the proclamation in some quarters that ‘guitar music was dead’ was partly indebted to bands using the same tried and tested line-ups. Two guitars and bass sat on stage like meat and two veg, leaving little to inspire those with an appetite for something new and exciting. But it’s never quite as simple as that - and indeed, you’d be guilty of applying the same formulaic judgements to tar each band with the same brush - as London based Keebo prove.

What’s initially most awe-inspiring regarding the four-piece is their vocal harmonies. As each band member offers you their individual lines, its striking how it all falls together to deliver one whole sound. Guitar parts intertwine amongst a blissful sun-drenched pop sound that’s as easy going as it gets. With all this, Keebo produce a sound exceptionally larger than the sum of their parts. And that surely should be the ultimate objective of any band regardless of set-up.
