It is a rare and special occasion indeed, to find a sophisticated and developed sound with an inaugural UK release - a sound worthy to be filed alongside post-‘Amnesiac’ Radiohead or DM Stith’s ‘Heavy Ghost’. London via Bradford duo Laces achieve this and emphatically announce their arrival with the ‘Beachcombers’ EP, of which we have the premiere.

At times twitching and tense, at others ethereal and transcendent; ‘Beachcombers’ flows as a record best heard in its entirety. Each track contributes to create a whole, larger than the sum of its parts. Leading track ‘Screens’ becomes amplified in its intensity within the context of the densely atmospheric EP. It’s an ever giving listen, with new textures being realised from its nuances as it develops.

With ‘Beachcombers’, Laces mark themselves as a hugely intriguing prospect - an outfit ready for music connoisseurs from their inception, a band who promise to deliver with the utmost creative flair now and for the future.

Laces ‘Beachcombers’ EP is released today via Button Hook Recordings. Download it on Bandcamp.
