Advertorial feature Meet the latest four semi-finalists for Fender’s Undiscovered Artist of The Year 2017

Ahead of the second semi-final - which takes place on Thursday 19th October - get to know the four artists competing for the prize.

Earlier this year, Fender announced that they would be holding a competition to find their Undiscovered Artist of the Year for 2017. Now, after receiving hundreds of entries from singer-songwriters across the country and already airing the first semi-final - watch that here - the second set of semi-finalists are gearing up to take to the stage.

Competing for the chance to open up for the brilliant Lucy Rose at her upcoming London show at Shepherds Bush Empire, the second group of artists will be facing each other this Thursday (19th October), in the second round of semi-finals. Ahead of this week’s streamed semi-final, you can now meet the second round of musicians that have been chosen by Fender.

This second set of semi-finalists includes 22 year old Oscar Corney who loves both John Mayer and Ryan Adams, Martha Phillips from Leeds, an acoustic looper artist who’s “been writing for six or seven years now”, Cardiff’s own Tom Auton, who’s got an eclectic taste - he cites inspirations as Royal Blood, BB King and John Mayer and Londoner Hattie Briggs, who hopes to earn the public’s vote if they connect with her songs.

Wanna learn more about these four artists? Just watch the video below and don’t forget to tune in and watch their performances on the evening of Thursday 19th October over on Fender’s Facebook page.

The winners of each semi-final - as based on the judges’ votes - will be announced on Friday 20th October, before public voting opens. It’s then that you can cast your vote to decide which of the remaining artists will make it to the final of Fender’s Undiscovered Artist of The Year 2017.
